As I looked for an article which has critical thinking going wrong the first thing that came to my mind was the alleged incident with Chris Brown and Rhianna. I began looking on People Magazine for coverage on this story. All the links above pertain to this story and none of them address Rhianna or Chris Brown's side of the story. It shows the family's feelings which can portray someone worse than they are or better. Therefore these stories from people magazine break the rule of critical thinking of examine the evidence.

Research Problems

I have been having a research problem on my research question for a few weeks now and has been driving me crazy. To solve this problem I thought of all the multicultural issues SCSU cheer has and wrote them all down. I then searched all of these topics in as many ways as I could and found the issue that had the most reliable sources (since cheer leading is not a very popular book in the SCSU library).

This week for SCSU cheer

This week I finally found a subject that was reasonable to pursue a research project on! Cheer leading has been something I have been a part of for the past eight years of my life. As a part of that sexuality will always play a part in the culture but is not something I had ever really consciously thought about as a possible problem. This gives a huge stereotype on cheerleaders which is very big multicultural issue in cheer leading. Therefore my final choice in my topic is "Why has cheer leading become viewed as sexual sport?"

Discussion Number 6

Q:What did you learn about the Miller Center LR&TS OPAC that you wished you had known before?
Visit the
Great River Regional Library OPAC and search for materials on your topic. What features were the same, and which were different? How many results did you get through the Great River OPAC compared to the Miller Center OPAC? Were they the type of books that you expected? Why or why not?

A:In a couple of my classes I have had tutorials for the library so nothing really striked me as new. As I searched for date rape on Great River Regional Library I got alot of good results as I also did on the SCSU library website. So in the end I didn't learn anything new but its always good to go back and review!!!
